‘Iron Man’ Star Gwyneth Paltrow Reveals Pepper Potts’ Future In The MCU

Fans have been wondering when they’ll see Gwyneth Paltrow return as Pepper Potts in the MCU. The Iron Man actress finally breaks her silence on her future at Marvel Studios.

The death of Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark in Avengers: Endgame was one of the most impactful moments in the MCU, changing the characters, fans, and the entire universe forever. While some of Iron Man‘s supporting cast like Don Cheadle’s War Machine and Jon Favreau’s Happy Hogan have appeared in Marvel Studios projects following his death, Pepper Potts has been entirely absent. When asked if she’d return to Marvel Studios during a recent Instagram Q&A, Paltrow told fans there’s no future for Pepper without Tony:

“Oh my god, stop yelling at me!” Paltrow spoke. “We just stopped doing it because Iron Man died, and why do you need Pepper Potts without Iron Man? I don’t know, call up Marvel and yell at them, not me. I’m just sitting here.”

It certainly makes sense that Pepper Potts, and by extension Gwyneth Paltrow, would step away from the world of superheroes without Iron Man. Despite Robert Downey Jr. not being set to return for any future Marvel Studios project, his legacy is certainly still alive in the MCU, be it through his supporting cast like Don Cheadle’s War Machine or the literal legacy that lives on through characters like Ironheart, who is set to get their own Disney Plus series soon.

Who else is attached to the Ironheart series?

Ironheart follows Riri Williams, a brilliant MIT student who creates the most advanced suit of armor since the one worn by Tony Stark, a.k.a. Iron Man. Thorne made her first appearance as Ironheart in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Chinaka Hodge is the head writer of the Ironheart series while Sam Bailey and Angela Barnes serve as directors. Hodge is also executive producing the project alongside Ryan Coogler, Zinzi Coogler, Sev Ohanian, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum, Zoie Nagelhout and Kevin Feige.

The cast of Ironheart also includes Jim Rash, Lyric Ross, Harper Anthony, Manny Montana, Alden Ehrenreich, Shea Couleé, Zoe Terakes, Regan Aliyah, Shakira Barrera, Sonia Denis, Paul Calderón and Rashida “Sheedz” Olayiwola.
