A 17-year-old boy was shot and killed in Richmond’s Iron Triangle neighborhood last week, according to police.
On the morning of Aug. 26, officers found the teenager, identified as Brandon Cox, bleeding from what appeared to be two gunshot wounds to the abdomen at 3rd Street and Nevin Avenue, according to police.
A witness saw Cox and the suspect seated in a parked gray sedan, police said. Both were handling money and appeared to be arguing before each pulled out a firearm, the witness told police. Cox then stumbled out of the passenger door, and the suspect fled south, driving down 3rd Street.
Cox was taken to Highland Hospital. It was unclear where he was pronounced dead.
The suspect’s identity was unknown to authorities, according to police.
