A 13-year-old bicyclist suffered nonlife-threatening injuries when he was hit by a vehicle Wednesday morning in Buffalo Grove, authorities said.

Buffalo Grove police said the boy was riding north on Weiland Road near Newtown Drive at approximately 7:28 a.m. when the collision occurred in a crosswalk.

The driver of the vehicle, a 66-year-old Wheeling resident, remained on the scene and is cooperating with authorities, police said.

The boy received treatment at the scene then taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge for additional treatment, authorities said.

Weiland Road was closed for a short time Wednesday morning while police investigated.
